SHEERLITE OFFERS RAPID-FIT, LEAD-FREE NEW ROOFING OPTION

The advanced new Sheerlite conservatory roofing system from L.B. Plastics has been developed to offer a real alternative to those fabricators who feel limited by the established solutions on the market.

Sheerlite's development follows a two-year programme involving investment of more than £2 million by L.B. Plastics, to create what is believed to be the first conservatory roofing system to be manufactured using new generation organic stabilisers, making it completely lead-free.

Available in kit form and bar length, the Sheerlite system is not only easy-to-fabricate, quick to install and stylishly good looking, but also extremely versatile and totally universal, sitting perfectly with any depth of window.

Recognising that speed of installation is key for fabricators, L.B. Plastics has designed-in a number of highly innovative features. These include Sheerlite's unique Clip-Lock mechanism, which allows rafters to be clipped into position on the crown, and pre-set, factory-fitted captive bolts already in place when the kit reaches site.

An ingenious fast-fit gutter system also ensures that fabricators can achieve a neat finish without the need for a separate jointing trim. This utilises brackets that click into position on the eaves-beam and also act to strengthen the gutter which conceals the joint between the eaves-beam and the window.

All this innovation has come without compromise on styling and visual appeal. Optional ovolo features combine with a design that ensures sightlines are balanced, and in proportion, and Sheerlite's trims and caps are designed so that they can be square cut where possible and easily fitted to create a very neat and subtle finish.

Sheerlite's comprehensive development programme included employing a team of specialist engineering consultants to work on creating unrivalled structural integrity. By studying the combined impact of snow and wind loadings, safety margins were built into Sheerlite's design from the outset to ensure that even in the most extreme winter weather conditions the structure remained secure.
